She is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), a certified Appreciative Inquiry Practitioner through the David L. Cooperrider Center for Appreciative Inquiry, and a certified human resources professional (SHRM).

Sandy has taught Psychology and Positive Psychology at Champlain College and Franklin University. She has also taught Human Resources at Duke University. She has contributed to several books, most recently Character Strengths Matter: How to Live a Full Life and Making Hope Happen: Create the Future You Want for Yourself and Others.
